Firefighting documentation is an important document for the incident commander about the specific building where the firefighters will operate.

It consists of a text part with recommendations for the incident commander and a part with the layout or plan of the entire building.

From access roads, areas for setting up and deploying fire appliances and entrances to the building, to the exact location of any hazardous substances stored there – the incident commander will also find out how many people should be on shift and other information.

In short, firefighting documentation contains everything firefighters can use for the most effective and safest possible response.
