Automated external defibrillator
As specialists in health and safety and fire protection, we also try to get involved in other public-interest projects that add value to society. Recently, together with representatives of the town of Radnice and in cooperation with the town council, we supplied the town with an automated external defibrillator (AED). We value this cooperation very much, because it has made Radnice an even safer place for its residents. An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a device used to provide fast and effective intervention in cardiac arrest when defibrillation is needed. It is designed to be easy to use even for people without medical education or training, which can be crucial in situations outside hospitals, such as public places, sports events, airports, shopping centres and more.
A strategic location
The device is strategically located next to the cash machine on the Radnice town hall building. The location was chosen because it is public and easy to reach in an emergency. The AED is built into an electronic notice board that we specially adapted for this purpose. The cabinet is clearly marked, so anyone can find it easily when needed.
Detailed instructions for use
We have equipped the automated external defibrillator with an information panel with detailed instructions for use. Although the device is relatively easy to use, in a crisis it is better to have simple instructions available that give the necessary information and the steps to take in an emergency. This covers both attaching the electrodes to the casualty’s body and using the defibrillator itself. The defibrillator must be one hundred per cent functional, and regular inspections of the device are a matter of course for us.
Anyone can save a life
Through this cooperation with the town of Radnice, we appeal to its residents not to hesitate to use the device if necessary. A fast response and first aid in the event of heart failure are crucial. Every second can be decisive, and an AED can make the difference between life and death. At the same time, we firmly believe that the device will never have to be used.
The town of Radnice invests in safety
The automated external defibrillator is an important step towards greater safety in the town. It is a device that can save lives and gives residents quick and easy access to help in the event of heart failure. The town of Radnice cares about its residents, and the AED installation is further proof of that care.
We hope this device will never have to be used – but if it does, it will be able to save a life. We are proud that together we can increase the safety and protection of the town of Radnice.
